I have been training in martial arts for over 30 years, teaching for the last 12.
I began my training in 1982 with Karate under Alex Chalmers and Steve Wilson in Harlow and later with Roger Hall in Bishops Stortford.
After a break from Karate I started Taekwon-do training in 2001, like many others after receiving a leaflet through the post. My Instructor Mr. Stuart Penn gave me the inspiration to train regularly and achieve my black belt which I did in October 2004.
I continued training and also qualified as a TAGB Umpire and Instructor in 2005 and in 2009 passed my part 2 referees exam.
I opened Bishops Stortford TKD in 2006 and Epping TKD in 2007.
I also jointly ran Harlow Taekwon-do from 2009 to 2011 after taking it over from my own instructor.
In 2010 I became a full time instructor to focus on Taekwon-do without other work commitments. I regularly officiate at the various competitions held by the T.A.G.B. which have included World Championships and I also attend our local coloured belt gradings on the black belt theory table.
